Abstract : Garlic (Allium sativum) is a member of lily family which is closely related to onions and chives. While it is used primarily used as a flavoring ingredient for many foods, it was also used as a stimulant for strength, endurance and as medicine in the historical past by the Chinese, Egyptians, and the Babylonians. Present study was conducted with the purpose of investigating in some detail about the possible protective effect of garlic extract on induced gastric ulcers and also its effect on uterine smooth mucle. Furthermore, its fetotoxic and embryotoxic were also investigated.
